ALL ABOUT ELVIS….

Yes, I was a fan of Mr. Presley. The first record I ever bought was a 45 of him with “Don’t Be Cruel” and “Hound Dog” on the flip side. Or it might have been “Heartbreak Hotel” with “I Was The One,” but I recall the first pick (and all the lyrics and melody even today!) somewhat better. These came out in 1958, which is when I would have bought my first (and only) Elvis recording.

Time marched on. I went from playing records to playing in a band, and Elvis went by the wayside for me. Then he died.

His end was not pretty.

I recently learned Elvis had the same problem that my cat has, a lovely disorder called megacolon. This eventually killed Elvis, though my cat survives. My little friend puts out some of the most amazing things into the catbox, thanks to his problem. Mr. Presley apparently was unable to put out anything into his ‘catbox’ for a solid four months. Then one day he forced things, which caused a major artery in his body to collapse, which killed him quite dead. He liked cheeseburgers and apparently weighed some 350 pounds when he died on the toilet. Such a pity.
